Who are we?

The Missoula Forum for Children and Youth is a program within the County Department of Grants and Community Programs that works to prevent underage substance abuse in Missoula County through the coordination of coalitions that organize and implement community-wide projects to provide early childhood support, promote positive healthy choices for young people, and carry out environmental strategies to prevent underage substance abuse.

It is the Forum’s basic belief that collaboration is key to effective prevention. The Forum coordinates three community coalitions to help reduce risk factors and promote protective factors for young people in Missoula County.  These coalitions bring together a wide range of community leaders, prevention specialists, parents and youth, youth service providers, medical professionals, law enforcement, business leaders, and more to help create lasting and real community change.

We envision a community that supports the development of thriving, resilient children and youth who are empowered to make healthy choices around wellness and substance use.
