"Helping Missoula raise healthy and resilient children and youth"

Healthy Start Council MAPPPS MUSAP Youth Development Network Media Literacy CAT Oversight Committee

 

Five coalitions operate under the umbrella of the Forum, developing community-wide strategies that reduce risk factors, enhance protective factors, and promote positive youth development. The coalitions target specific populations or issues and convene task forces to address specific projects

  • Working to develop better knowledge, services, and support to help Missoula families raise healthy young children.

     

  • Missoula Adolescent Pregnancy, Prevention, and Parenting Services (MAPPPS)

    Collaborating to develop a community strategy for the prevention of teen pregnancy and to address the special needs of pregnant and parenting teens.

     

  • Missoula Underage Substance Abuse Prevention team (MUSAP)

    Working together to improve community strategies to reduce underage substance abuse in Missoula County.

     

  • Youth Development Network (YDN)

    Collaborating to prepare young people to meet the challenges of adolescence through the provision of positive experiences and relationships that promote competence, usefulness, belonging, and empowerment.
     

  • Media Literacy Community Action Team

    To increase awareness of media's impacts on behavior and to build the ability to analyze and create media by integrating media literacy education into existing programs and classrooms.

Monthly Forum and Coalition updates:  Every month, each Forum coalition prepares a short update for the Oversight Committee.  They are attached below as .pdf files.
