Five coalitions operate
under the umbrella of the Forum, developing community-wide strategies that
reduce risk factors, enhance protective factors, and promote positive youth
development. The coalitions target specific populations or issues and
convene task forces to address
specific projects.

develop better knowledge, services, and support to help Missoula
families raise healthy young children.

Collaborating to develop a community strategy for the prevention of
teen pregnancy and to address the special needs of pregnant and
parenting teens.

Working
together to improve community strategies to reduce underage
substance abuse in Missoula County.

Collaborating to prepare young people to meet the challenges of
adolescence through the provision of positive experiences and
relationships that promote competence, usefulness, belonging, and
empowerment.

To increase awareness of
media's impacts on behavior and to build the ability to analyze and
create media by integrating media literacy education into existing
programs and classrooms.
