First Annual SPARK Concert
WHEN AND WHERE: Tuesday, April 30 at 7:30 p.m. in the Dennison Theatre on the University of Montana campus. WHAT: Presented by the Missoula County Public Schools Fine Arts Department, this event will offer an opportunity for the general public to see some of the best of this school year’s band, choir, orchestra and drama students in celebrated performances. The concert will feature several groups of talented, young students, including the All-City Orchestra and Hellgate Jazz Band, which were both selected to present at the National Association for Music Education’s Northwest Division Conference in Portland, Ore., in February. Also featured will be Missoula Youth Symphony, Kocong – the Gamelan group from Lewis and Clark Elementary, the Hellgate Drama Department and several others. ADMISSION AND OTHER INFORMATION: The concert is provided free to the public but Missoulians will be given the opportunity to make a generous donation for the continuing support of the Fine Arts Department.
