“Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorder Certification Training and Community Support Workshop, “Beyond Talk into Action” on September 10th – 12th in Missoula

The Missoula Best Beginnings Council and the Lewis & Clark County Early Childhood Coalition is sponsoring a certification training for the Postpartum Support International (PSI), “Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorder Certification PSI LogoTraining and Community Support Workshop, “Beyond Talk into Action” on September 10th – 12th in Missoula.  Training and registration fees are paid for through the Maternal, Infant & Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV ID)grant; out of pocket expense include course materials.

The Perinatal Mood Disorders: Components of Care is an evidence-based curriculum designed for psychiatrists, nurses, midwives, primary care physicians, social workers, mental health providers, childbirth professionals, social support providers or anyone interested in learning skills and knowledge for assessment and treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.  CE/CME’s up to 13.75 contact hours are available for this training.

The workshop “Beyond Talk into Action”, presented by Jane Honikman, Founder of PSI, (PSI Website) will explain the process that is essential to establishing successful community based social support networks.  It will prove to be a great resource for communities in making decisions in developing a system for what new families need to live in a supportive community.
